About us

Our Story

Traffic-rules.com was created with a simple goal: to make traffic rules, road signs, and driving education more accessible to everyone.

Learning to drive can be challenging. Traffic laws vary from country to country, road signs can look unfamiliar, and official information is often spread across many different sources. This project aims to bring that information together in a clear, visual, and easy-to-understand format.

What started as a personal hobby has grown into an ambitious international educational project focused on helping learners and drivers better understand the rules of the road.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide clear, accurate, visual, and accessible traffic education for people around the world.

We believe that road safety begins with knowledge. By making traffic information easier to understand, we hope to help learners become safer, more confident, and better-informed road users.

What You Can Learn Here

Traffic-rules.com offers a growing collection of educational resources, including:

  • Traffic sign explanations
  • Driving theory information
  • Road marking guides
  • Educational quizzes
  • Country-specific traffic rules
  • Visual illustrations and diagrams
  • Video resources
  • Transportation and road safety topics

Whether you are preparing for a driving licence exam, learning about traffic signs, researching road regulations, or simply expanding your knowledge, our goal is to provide information in a clear and engaging way.

Remixing traffic rules

A core principle behind this project is the idea of remixing educational information. Traffic rules, road signs, and driving regulations are often published through official manuals, government publications, legislation, and educational resources. While these sources provide valuable information, they can be difficult to compare across countries, languages, and legal systems.

Rather than simply reproducing existing material, this website applies a remix approach. Information is researched, translated, reorganized, combined with other sources, illustrated, and presented in a new educational format designed to make learning easier and more accessible. By remixing information from multiple sources into a unified learning experience, the project aims to help learners better understand traffic rules and road signs from around the world.

Accuracy and Reliability

We make every effort to provide accurate and up-to-date information.

However, traffic laws and regulations can change over time and may vary depending on local circumstances. Although content is regularly reviewed and updated, visitors should always consult official government publications, driving manuals, and local authorities when legal certainty is required.

The information provided on this website is intended for educational and informational purposes only and should not be considered legal advice.

Sources and attribution

This website relies on a wide variety of publicly available educational, governmental, and community-maintained resources.

We use alot of openly licensed media and educational resources made available by organizations and communities such as Wikimedia Commons, Creative Commons contributors, and other projects that support the sharing of knowledge. Whenever possible, original sources, licenses, and attributions are preserved and credited in accordance with their respective licensing requirements.

We are grateful to the many organizations, institutions, photographers, illustrators, authors, volunteers, and open knowledge communities whose work helps make educational content more accessible to people around the world. If you believe content has been attributed incorrectly, or if you have questions regarding copyright, licensing, or attribution, please contact us and we will be happy to review the matter. Thanks!

About me

My journey in traffic education began with Rijbewijs-online.be, a website focused on helping people learn traffic rules and prepare for driving licence theory exams. Through the development of that platform, I discovered a growing interest in international traffic systems, road signs, and driving education from around the world.

Over time, the project expanded beyond Belgium and evolved into Traffic-rules.com, an international educational website dedicated to traffic rules, road signs, driving theory, road safety, and transportation topics from countries across the globe.

What started as a personal hobby has gradually developed into a long-term mission to create one of the world's most comprehensive and accessible traffic education resources. My goal is to continue growing the project while making traffic information easier to understand for learners, drivers, travelers, and road users everywhere.

Thank you for your visit and for supporting this project.
